Celebrating 50 Years of Italian Community, Culture, and Connection in Nova Scotia

On May 9th, past and current members of the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia gathered together to celebrate an important milestone – 50 years of community, friendship, volunteerism, and Italian heritage in Nova Scotia.

For five decades, the ICCA has been a place where generations of families and friends have come together to celebrate Italian culture through language, food, music, traditions, community events, and shared experiences.

What began in the mid-70s as a vision to create a home for Italian culture and community in Nova Scotia has grown into an important cultural organization that continues to welcome both longtime members and new generations into the ICCA family.

Throughout the evening, members reconnected, shared stories and memories, enjoyed Italian food and music, and reflected on the many people whose dedication helped shape the ICCA over the past 50 years.

As part of the celebration, a special tribute video was created to honour the people, traditions, milestones, and memories that helped build the ICCA over the decades.

The tribute includes reflections, historical photos, and stories that recognize the volunteers, members, leaders, and families who helped keep Italian culture and community thriving in Nova Scotia.

A heartfelt thank you to dedicated members Eric and Renata for their incredible work creating this meaningful tribute.

Most importantly, thank you to every member, volunteer, family, supporter, and friend who has been part of the ICCA story over the past 50 years.
